Mt Cutler Trail
Details
The Mt Cutler trail, which can be found on AllTrails at https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/mt-cutler-trail, rises above Cheyenne Creek about half way up the Cheyenne Canyon, on the south side. It is a scenic, easy-to-moderate hike of 2 miles up and back with a 492 foot elevation gain. Spectacular views are available from the summit. Challenges include some steep sections and scree. Boots, sunglasses, windbreakers and hats will be needed, and you should plan on bringing water and snacks in a day pack. It is advised to bring poles and/or microspikes if you have them, to avoid slippage on descent from the top. We will meet before 9:00 AM at the trailhead in North Cheyenne Cañon Park; the road up to the parking lot is fully paved. Parking is usually very limited on weekends and holidays so you may want to arrive early. Directions can be found in the AllTrails link above when you click on Get Directions, or on Google Maps at Mt Cutler and Muscoco Trailhead, N Cheyenne Canyon Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80906. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed.
