Date/Time: Sunday 25 th May. Meet at 8:15 am for an 8:30 start; back mid-afternoon, say by 2:30 pm. Coffee, snacks, food available at 20 km at Greenfield Park. Intending to stop at Pemulwuy at around 38 km for lunch, some take-away & a park there.
Meeting Place: Garrison Point Reserve, Georges Hall. It is on your left as you drive north along Henry Lawson Drive, after passing Bankstown Airport; the exit off Henry Lawson Drive is signposted. Park nearby the large toilet block. There are no rail stations or shops nearby.
Ride Description: A day out riding & exploring some trails less often travelled by St George BUG. The route is a 55 km western Sydney circuit taking in Chipping Norton Lakes and Prospect Reservoir following many pleasant paths alongside rivers, creeks, canals and aqueducts. Almost all on (good quality) shared cycleways plus some short sections on usually quiet local roads.
Rated: Easy/moderate. A predominantly flat, low stress ride but anyone joining the ride must be comfortable with the distance, some short hills & some on-road riding. Any type of bike in good order is suitable; helmet, water bottle, spare tube and relevant tools, pump etc required.
