Tuesday rides, when scheduled, will be at 2:45 for November and December. This is as late as we can start and be finished before dark.

November 11 is Veterans Day, so I hope more people can make it because it's a holiday for some.

We'll use a 16.2-mile route created by Paul Chamberlin a year ago:

Tuesday sunset times for Longmont:

  • Nov 11: 4:49
  • Nov 18: 4:42
  • Nov 25: 4:38
  • Dec 2: 4:36
  • Dec 9: 4:36
  • Dec 16: 4:37
  • Dec 23: 4:40
  • Dec 30: 4:45

The goal is to finish well before sunset, even if you need to fix a flat or have some other delay. Front and back lights are highly recommended as the days get shorter.

GROUP A: This group will be at a faster pace (19+mph average)

GROUP B1: This group will be at a medium/fast pace (17 to 19 mph average)

GROUP B2: Rides in the 15-17 mph range. This a NO-DROP group and we will strive to wait for everyone at particular re-gathering points on the route.

GROUP B3 (when announced in comments): Rides in the 13-14 mph range and starts 30 minutes early (at 2:15 pm).

NOTE ABOUT SAFETY: The time of day this ride takes place is typically during heavier traffic times; our #1 goal is always to keep everyone safe, and to keep the car/bike relationship harmonious. With the large group sizes we often have, please ride single file and within the bike lanes, and do not obstruct traffic.

Weather make-up rides: If a regular Tuesday ride is cancelled because of unfavorable weather, we will make a best-effort to reschedule the ride (same starting location and time) for the following day (Wednesday).
