What we’re about
Some of our members are brand new to paddle boarding, while others have significant experience. We get together once a month, April through October for day paddles on local rivers and lakes. And we host, at least one, paddle in camping trip per year.
If you do not own your own SUP, there are a few companies in Asheville who rent SUPs by the day. These include, Wai Mauna and French Broad Outfitters. It can be helpful to rent a few different types of boards before deciding which type of board you would like to purchase.

See all- Lake Fontana Paddle to a WaterfallUnofficial Lake Fontana Put-in, Bryson City, NC
For this paddle we will go to Lake Fantana and complete a 5 or 6 mile round trip, including a waterfall. We are not going in at a boat launch so there will be no bathrooms at the put-in. However the put-in is close to Fingerlake Day Use Area which has a portajohn, I believe. The put-in is at 35 degrees 22'22.3" N 83 degrees 33'40.6" W. We will park alongside the road and there is gravel down to the water. We will paddle upstream towards NOC to see the waterfall and then turn around. We will plan to launch at 10:15 AM.

If people would like to go into Bryson City afterwards for lunch, I am available for that.
