STG Social Hikes

3.2 miles, 450ft gain
light-use trail; some light rock scrambling. uneven footing the whole way.

We will be surrounded by the incredible scenic multi-colored mountain peaks and mesas. Over the rocky crest, we’ll make make a descent toward the virgin River below to view the glyphs.

the name is because of this glyph that bears a striking resemblance to Davinci’s “vitruvian man”

1.6 miles, 600’ gain

this route requires scrambling. some steep hills that we go down and up. it’ll be slow and take longer than 1.6 miles usually takes us. it is a cool canyon with a great little slot. there Is a rappelling route near the teailhead. great little hike.

3-4 mi, 800’ gain
we start up the old trail. this is higher and longer. at the top we pay homage to the flag pole-that-was, gather any painted rocks we wan yo carry for relocation, and head back down. near the bottom we head over to the new trail and climb that shorter hill, leaving any painted rocks we have along the trail. we climb to the new flag pole and admire the views before heading back to the cars.
there are always more cute painted rocks than one can read and it’s fun to peak at as many as we can on the way past.
