STG Social Hikes

2.3 miles, 650’ gain, loop.

we meet at black rock road and car pool into the gorge, cedar pocket exit. the TH is just north (right) of the ramp. plenty of parking but I don’t like meeting in the gorge because of sketchy signal.

all-trails says the peak is called Anvil Peak. it also says there are chains at the top to help with loose footing. no shade. i’m always slow on the ascent, with lots of resting and panting. the views are incredible.

8 miles, 1200’ gain

it is time for me to climb the hill to hamburger rock. I have a good idea of the route we will take, but it is largely new territory so we must be prepared for possible unanticipated obstacles. we have to climb a steep slope with no trail so I will do my best to find as painless a route as possible.

the gorge always has awesome, sweeping views and this hill top promises unrivaled views both upstream and down. longer hike, bring a snack. it’s forecast to be cool that day with rain the day before. hopwfully that will help the dirt.

Jacquie is going to lead and show us all the cool things she knows about webb hill from hiking there over 30 years. I only know the trail but she will teach us everything to know about this local landmark. there Is one half mile that Is fairly strenuous. I will try to make sure no one gets hurt. l
