Meet at MacRobert Arts Centre entrance (inside foyer near front ticket desk)
Event will take place in University shared space nearby.
What Is Uno?
Uno is one of the world’s most popular and accessible card games. Playing against others, you start with 7 cards. The aim is to be the first person to get rid of all your cards (combination of luck and strategy), whilst trying to avoid receiving more from your sneaky rivals. All this whilst remembering to call “Uno!” when you are down to your final card!
Who Can Take Part?
The pace of the event will match the Uno playing abilities of those present, and if you are really unsure then you are welcome to pair up or watch as you learn the ropes. If you have never heard of Uno until now don’t let this put you off, all will be explained. For everybody's enjoyment the group size is a maximum of 8 people.
Sitting together around a big table we will play some rounds of Uno with laughs along the way. Whether you are a seasoned Uno veteran, have played a few times, or haven’t a clue what any of this means but are interested to find out more, then this event is for you!
What Will Happen At The Event?
The event will start with a welcome to allow everyone to say hello and gauge the level of playing experience. The basic aims and rules of Uno will be explained, and the different cards will be introduced so that everybody understands what each card does. A couple of walk-throughs will then take place to let everybody get familiar with how the game works.
Depending on how confident everybody is by this point, we can either pair up and play a few rounds to get the hang of things, or go straight into each person playing against others in the group (or split into smaller groups, depending on numbers). We play for fun!
What Do I Need To Bring?
Just yourself! Two packs of Uno cards will be brought along.
Anything Else I Need To Know?
The area in which we will play is part of a public open-plan and open-access multi-use space, so we will be sure to be respectful of other people who may be in the vicinity doing their own activities. By attending the event you agree to follow the group disclaimer. Plenty of parking is available a short distance away in the main University car park (FREE after 5pm). The bus terminus has moved to the far end of the car park. Toilet facilities are available. You are most welcome to bring soft/hot drinks and snacks, alternatively there is a Co-op located on site a short walk away should you wish to get refreshments as the event progresses. The Co-op has a takeaway coffee machine which is usually working.
