Cross Florida Greenway FNST section backpacking

Last minute trip to hike the section of Marjorie Harris Carr Greenway from the landbridge(mile 460) north to Ben's Hitching Post(mile 487).
Camping along the way off the trail. We will meet near the Santos Campground at the Santos Sheriff Station.

This event requires membership with the Florida Trail Association in order to participate. You must be an experienced backpacker who has skills filtering/treating water, hiking 10+ miles daily, carrying heavy backpack.

We will car shuttle to the landbridge and slackpack the first six miles. Once we arrive at Ben's Hitching post we will need to arrange for transport back to Santos. This hopefully will be a trail angel, if not prepare to split the cost of Uber/Lyft.

Logistics are flexible and the end time is an estimate. Participant size is limited due to type of camping allowed along the trail. We will hike through a small portion of the Ocala National Forest. Forest regulations require the use of an orange hat during general gun season.
