Hike rating: Rated as extreme due to distance, duration (5 hours +/-) and possible trail conditions. It is not a hike for those just beginning their hiking adventures.

This hike is associated with the 11.29.2025 Walk It Off overnight event. Come to one. Come to both. Your choice.

8:30 a.m. is the start walking time for this hike. There is no day use fee. No restrooms or potable water available at trailhead. Restrooms and potable water are available nearby (1.5 miles) at the Pasco County Withlacoochee River Park.

We will meet in the parking area by the gate to Ranch Road. We will begin with a short road walk to the River Road trailhead and then we will get down to business.

Make sure to:
wear proper hiking footwear and clothing.
adequate quantity of water. 2 quarts or 2 liters highly recommended
bug spray/sunscreen
food/snacks
