Sunday Assembly Atlanta

We meet every first Saturday at 9AM (this might change in the Winter) on Path 400 and have at least two groups, a walking group and a running group. We will wait at most five minutes at the meetup location, but if come late and stay there or head North or South on the path, we'll probably run into you since we will be doubling back on the path. We'll aim for 2 miles walking and 4 miles running, but may change it up depending on the group's preferences for the day.

After we may opt to stop near Prominence Apartments and get ice cream or pizza, depending on what people are up for.

Remember to come adequately hydrated and fueled, and bring water and dress appropriately for the weather, including protection from the sun and heat or cold and rain.

Welcome to our event series aiming for inclusion of folks who need or prefer stronger COVID safety precautions! Each COVID Safe(r) event will be outdoors 🌳 and/or N-95 masks required 😷. This is an outdoor park meetup with masks required and available.

Bring your favorite on-the-go craft I'll try and grab an accessible table for the group and I'll be there with girl scout cookies and coloring options.

Accessibility

Bessie Branham Park is in the Kirkwood neighborhood. There is a lot with 25 spots and additional street parking. Restrooms may be available in the rec center.

Group Description:
Gwinnett Secular Fellowship was formed for people living in Gwinnett and surrounding areas who would like to experience fellowship, belonging, and a sense of community through friendly and interesting discussions related to psychology, spirituality, politics, religion, and philosophy in a secular setting. Religious ideas centered in the supernatural are not promoted in the space, but that does not mean you have to be non-religious to attend. At Gwinnett Secular Fellowship, we do not force our personal views on others or denounce others’ views.

Gwinnett Secular Fellowship is part of Sunday Assembly Atlanta (SAA). SAA is a secular community without deity, dogma, or doctrine that helps individuals “Live Better, Help Often, and Wonder More” in the one life we know we have. SAA hopes to enrich your life with connection, curiosity, purpose, and fun.

Location and Accessibility:
We will be meeting at Siena Suwanee Town Center Apartments in the sky lounge located in Building 1000 on the 4th floor. The doors are controlled access, so I will meet everyone outside at 3:30 to let you in. There is a public parking deck right next to Building 1000 as well as street parking. There is a restroom in the sky lounge and on the ground floor. Ramps and an elevator are available.

In-Person Discussion Guidelines:
When we're chatting in person, we want to help everyone feel safe and respected by:

• Speaking one at a time: Use the finger queue system.
• Using "I" statements: When sharing your thoughts, say "I feel...", "I believe" instead of "You make me feel..." or "We think that…".
• Respecting all views: Don't try to force your opinions on others or put down others' views.

• Only post logistics: Share information like if you're running late or can't attend a GSF event.
• Avoid personal opinions or media: Don't share links, photos, or personal thoughts on a topic.

The coffee shop is near the Eastside Beltline. It's near stops for buses 2, 102, 899, and 809, some requiring a short walk. Dancing Goats is near, but not inside, Ponce City Market.

If you're driving/parking, there are spots on Glen Iris Dr (Sunday it's free), and many paid spots at PCM requiring a short walk.

Accessibility: the coffee shop is one floor with spacious restrooms inside. We nearly always meet outside in the covered area.
