Join Sunday Vacations for a day of adventure in the Namur countryside, discovering one of Wallonia’s most scenic hiking routes! This 15 km loop starts from Gendron Station, winding through the Furfooz Nature Reserve and along the Meuse River, with the spectacular Walzin Castle overlooking the valley. Expect a friendly, international atmosphere and plenty of breathtaking views.

### Cultural & Historical Angle

This route connects nature, history, and geology. The cliffs above the Meuse reveal millions of years of sedimentary history, while Walzin Castle, perched high on its limestone rock, reflects the feudal power that once ruled the region. The nearby Furfooz archaeological site still shows traces of Roman and prehistoric occupation - a reminder that humans have admired these landscapes for thousands of years.

• 🚆 Train to Gendron-Celles (approx. 1 h 45 min)
• 🥾 15 km circular hike - moderate difficulty (370 m elevation gain)

### How to Get There

We’ll travel together by train from Brussels Shuman Station to Gendron-Celles. Please purchase your return ticket in advance. Exact train time and coordination details will be shared in the WhatsApp group (link in the comments section).
