Sunshine Social Hike 2/1: Alamo Canyon 9AM πŸ˜β˜€οΈπŸ›•

Let’s enjoy a beautiful social hike on a newer trail at Catalina State Park! We will be hiking the Alamo Canyon Loop.

Please note the starting point is closer to the Ranger station than most trailheads at the end of the road. We gain all of the incline on the way out, then it’s all downhill on the way back. This trail was just finished last year and should still feel relatively new with its light wear and tear.

This will be an approximately 3.2mile hike with around 330 feet of elevation gain and will take us about an hour and a half to complete. For a social hike, this is medium length with a little bit of rocky incline in parts.

We will be starting introductions at 7:00am. After intros, we will begin hiking and return to the parking lot just around 8:45am (having taken our customary group picture at the halfway point, of course 😁)

Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles may be useful in the rocky parts. This trail is completely exposed.

The weather forecast right now calls for 57 degrees at the start and 65 by the time we finish, very nice!
This is a dog friendly trail 🐢

Parking requires a state park pass or you can pay at the ranger station upon entering (by envelope or online if nobody present). Remember: this trailhead is closer to the ranger station, not all the way back like Romero Pools trailhead.

We will be taking pictures and posting them to our website and our group Facebook page. Thank you for your consent to post by joining our hike.

Way to keep being mindful with your RSVPs! πŸ‘πŸ»

Hope to see you out there 😎

Thanks,
