Sept 20th: California Coastal Cleanup Day + Underwater Dive! (Municipal Wharf)

Details
FREE YOGA: 9:00am -
Beach Cleanup and Underwater Dive at 10:00am
We will kick off the morning at 9 AM with an (optional) FREE session Yoga, then smash out a beach cleanup from 10 AM - 12 PM. We have been absolutely blown away by the incredible impacts all of our volunteers are having along the Monterey shoreline in recent months, and we're so stoked you can join us!

UNDERWATER DIVE
For the first time ever, we're partnering with Monterey Expeditions to incorporate a diving component! We welcome certified SCUBA and freedivers, as well as snorkelers and shore support. This is not a guided dive, so all divers should be comfortable diving unguided in Monterey cold water with a buddy. If you do not have a buddy, we will find you one for the event.
Please bring personal dive gear, a cutting device and a mesh bag for trash collection. You'll also need to know your certification level, certification number, and agency. If you have any questions about diving, please email info@montereyexpeditions.com.
FEAST
Islands Restaurants is graciously providing breakfast to all volunteers!
BRING YOUR FRIENDS:
Teamwork makes the dream work! Bring you friends, family, coworkers, etc.! Have a friend who is beach-cleanup-curious? Bring them along! Community credit sign-off for high school students.
REDUCE, REUSE:
We recommend you bring your own reusable work/garden gloves and a reusable bag or bucket for the trash you collect. We’ll provide the large trash bags for you to empty your bag or bucket into when you’re finished. If you don't have these reusable items, we will happily provide them for you!
REWARDS:
Don’t forget to claim your rewards for your hard work! In addition to FREE beach yoga, all cleanup volunteers can collect coupons for 10% off your order at Alvarado St. Brewery and a 20% off a whale watching cruise with Monterey Bay Whale Watch! (I mean, between yoga, breakfast from Islands, a beach cleanup or dive cleanup, lunch at Alvarado, and an afternoon whale watching trip … we’ve essentially planned your Saturday for you!)
