Vero Beach Getaway (Day 2): Beach Walk, Botanical Garden & Blues Festival

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE YOU SIGN UP !!

This getaway is supposed to be a social event and involves an overnight stay in Vero Beach (or nearby), a beach town on the East Coast of Florida. During the 3 days we will among others walk, ride our bikes and attend a Blues Festival.

In case you don't want to spend two nights in a hotel or any other accommodation, you can still sign up for each or any of the three days individually.

We will stay for two nights from Friday, February 27th to Sunday, March 1st, 2026. Accommodations are plentiful in the area but you will have to make your own arrangements. You really might want to book now as Vero Beach is always packed during the season, you can still cancel later if needed (make sure you read the fine print).

We already booked a house with 4 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms to share in Sebastian, not far from the fairgrounds (ask for details if you are interested).

If you want to join us on several days, please sign up for each day separately so that we know whom to expect.

3 Day Getaway (Day 2): Breakfast, Beach Walk, Botanical Garden and Blues Festival

07:00 AM: We really want to get up early to beat the crowds and get a table. Let's meet for breakfast at Seaside Grill (4200 Ocean Dr., Vero Beach) when it opens its doors. You will be able to watch the sunrise on the way to the restaurant. There will be plenty of parking.

Those who want to skip breakfast can join us for the beach walk.

08:30 AM: Let's regroup in front of the restaurant. We will walk the boardwalk for a few hundred yards and head down to the beach for some exercise. Be aware that it might be cold and windy in the morning, so please dress accordingly.

09:45 AM: We get back to our cars and drive for about 15 minutes.

10:00 AM: Visit Mc Kee Botanical Garden
The garden is a paradise for nature lovers. On 18 acres we will be able to enjoy more than 10,000 native and tropical plants and one of the nation's most celebrated collection of water lilies. Entrance fee will be $ 20 per person.

12:00 PM: Drive to the Indian River County Fairgrounds at 7955 58th Ave in Vero Beach. It might take about 20 minutes to get there, maybe even longer depending on the crowds.

12:30 AM: Vero Beach Blues Festival
Discounted tickets are already on sale for $ 15 (will be $ 25 at the gates!!). You can buy them online at Vero Beach Blues Festival .
This is also where you can see the incredible lineup for the day.

Don't forget to bring your own blankets (it might get cold) and lawn chairs. No coolers. You will be able to buy food and drinks at the festival. One unopened water bottle per person is allowed. You can leave warmer cloth in the car, you can walk back at any time.

Obviously you can stay as long as you wish. There will be lots of vendors on the fairground, always fun to walk around and explore what they are selling. And of course, feel free to explore the area if you decide to leave the festival.
