MT. DORA/SANFORD GETAWAY MARCH 2026 - WHO WANTS TO JOIN A BOAT TOUR? SIGN UP...

THIS IS NOT THE ACTUAL EVENT BUT PLEASE READ ON! WE ASK YOU IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING US FOR A SCENIC BOAT TOUR IN MOUNT DORA. IF SO, PLEASE SIGN UP UNDER THIS FAKE EVENT.

We are already working on our 3 day (2 nights) getaway in Mount Dora and Sanford for March 24th to 26th, 2026. This will be a fun event with lots of bike riding, sightseeing, plenty of food and lots of time for socializing.
We will stay overnight in historic Sanford. With over 470 historic buildings, it has the largest collection of historic structures in the country.

If you already know that you are going, you might want to book your accommodation as soon as possible as options are limited (we already booked ours, same as last time). You can always cancel if necessary, however please make sure to read the fine print.
Some of the accommodations are large enough to share with groups, hotels are however not located within the historic town center but available within a 15 mile radius.

On March 24th, Day 1 of our 3 day event, we would like to start with a scenic pontoon boat tour on Lake Dora and The Harris Chain of Lakes.
The 2-hour tour includes the famous Dora Canal, which has been described as "The most beautiful mile of water in the world."

March is still considered to be the high season, so we were asked by the tour company Premier Boat Tours to make advance reservations as soon as possible and prepay the entire amount for our private tour.
The boat has a capacity of 22 passengers, price per person will be $35.00.

We don't like to pay the entire amount upfront out of our own pocket.
Therefore, we'd like to ask you if you are interested in joining the boat tour. If you are, please sign up for this event post.

Once we reach 22 passengers (or 20 who would like to join us), we will go ahead and make the reservation for the boat with captain and prepay the entire amount. We will then ask you to pay us your share back via PayPal, Venmo or cash when we see you at your next event. We will make a separate announcement.

This is what we plan to do (full details will be available once we post the events):

March 24th:
09:30 AM: Meet in Mount Dora
10:00 AM: Boat Tour (earliest time possible)
12:00 PM: Exploring Mount Dora
01:30 PM: Drive about 30 min. to Lake Monroe Park
02:30 PM: Bike ride to Blue Springs State Park (11 miles)
04:00 PM: Discover the State Park known for its manatees
04:45 PM: Return to Lake Monroe Park
Those who don't like to check in immediately can join us for the evening
06:00 PM: Drive 15 min. to Swamp House Riverfront Grill
06:15 PM: Dinner with old Floridian vibe right at St. Johns River
07:39 PM: Sunset watching on the grounds
07:45 PM: Drive about 20 minutes to your accommodations

March 25th will start at 08:15 AM with Breakfast in historic downtown unless you want to skip it. It will be followed by a 27 mile bike ride, late lunch with outdoor seating and a walk through historic Sanford to enjoy the many Victorian homes.

On March 26th, we will again start with a group breakfast, followed by a 25 mile bike ride with stops at Green Springs Park, historic DeBary Hall and Gemini Springs Park. We might go for late lunch before we head back home.

As always, you don't have to participate in all three days once we post them. You can sign up for each day individually if you want.
