Let's get adventurous and join us for a wonderful hike through remote countryside. Bring along a picnic so you won't go hungry.

We haven't done this one for a while. The land is managed by Southwest Florida Water Management and might not be well maintained. Total distance is about 10 to 12 miles.

This hike won't be a walk in the park but it will be very enjoyable for adventurous souls. We will hike on grassy, occasional overgrown and often uneven trails. Other parts of the trails might be sandy but large sections are on firm underground.
Overall maybe just a bit more challenging and strenuous while mostly fully exposed to the sun and definitely not suited for beginners.

During our hike we will pass through active ranch land and say hello to cattle and horses. We will also have to pass a little creek and try to avoid getting our feet wet. Wildlife should be plentiful, we encountered several armadillos, wild boar, vultures, hawks and other birds. Foot prints of deer and raccoons were visible en masse.

Along the way we will take several breaks and have a picnic. You might want to bring a little something to sit on.

Please bring sufficient time and don't schedule anything right after the event! This will be a social event and no race. We will stop if we see wildlife and stop to check the map. Water breaks will be essential. The hike might take longer than expected.

You might want to cover your head. You should also wear sunscreen, sunglasses and bring along sufficient water. Don't forget your picnic.
