EUGENE DUBOSSARSKY: "LIVING THE DREAM - BECOMING A FREELANCE DATA SCIENTIST"

About the Talk: Eugene will discuss the path towards becoming a successful freelance data scientist, including his personal experience, and discuss the important steps, risks, joys and thrills along the way. This is a talk for anyone considering becoming freelance, and also a potentially surprising perspective for those who were hitherto on a corporate career track.

About the Speaker: Dr Eugene Dubossarsky is a leader in the analytics field in Australia, with 20 years’ commercial data science experience. He holds a PhD in neural networks, and a 1st Class Honours degree in Computer Science and Pure Mathematics. He is head of the meetups Sydney Data Science, the Sydney Users of R Forum, Data Visualisation Sydney. His training business Presciient offers courses in data science, machine learning, and analytics, as well as new commercial courses in quantum computing.
He is the Chief Data Scientist of AlphaZetta, and a partner of Advantage Data, an Australian data analytics consultancy for online business, health, sports, finance. He is also advisor on data science to Bankera, an international digital bank, and one of the world’s largest ICOs, as well as a range of other ICOs in the finance, entertainment and health space.

About the Talk: In this talk Tony will introduce AlphaZetta, a global platform for independent consultants that deliver quality data science directly to the client. Tony will explain how clients are benefiting from new ways of engaging analytics talent and the impact of this new way of organising consulting services on how experts and Data Scientist are working today.

About the Speaker: Tony is Founder & Managing Partner of AlphaZetta. He brings 25 years of deep practical experience globally. He has worked with large global clients in the US, Europe and Asia on a range of innovative analytics programs. He has held senior positions with St.George Bank (Westpac), several start-ups and lead Teradata’s Industry Centers of Excellence for their International division for Retail, Finance, Telco, Media & Entertainment.
Tony has won awards for innovation in analytics, including as a Finalist for Australia’s Young Business Person of the Year Awards and is a frequent speaker at seminars globally. He believes that analytic innovation and creativity come from experts directly collaborating with clients on their projects. He created the “Art Of Analytics” which showcases the very best of big data insights and the Data Scientists that make them.
