2026 Easter Holidays. Warrumbungle Mountains

Chris’s Phone 0408 697 597. EASTER HOLIDAYS. If you haven't got any plans for next Easter, this 4 day road trip to North West NSW is an exellent holiday to a very nice part of NSW in relation to tourist attractions, bush walks, Aboriginal culture and agricultural crops.

SIGHT-SEEING. The Warrumbungle Mountains and the "Breadknife" are absoulutely spectacular, but you will have to walk up 1000 stairs to get to the top.

BUSHWALKING. We will do an 8km to 12km "Grand High Tops" bushwalk at Warrumbungle Mountains and a 4km walk at Burning Mountain near Scone. The Warrumbungle Mountains bushwalk is a steep "medium to hard" walk that will take about 4 hours, but it will be possible for you to do a shorter walk if necessary.

ABORIGINAL CULTURE. Home of the Gamilaroi Aboriginal people. Sandstone Caves Rock Art, Sculptures in the Scrub, Pilliga National Park, Pilliga Forest Discovery Centre.

FOOD. We will stop at Merriwa Bakery for coffee on Friday and lunch at Coolah Bakery, but will pack picnic lunches on the other days. We will have pub dinners at night, but there is also a very good Chinese restaurant at Coonabarabran.

HOLIDAY ITINERARY. 9.00am Friday 3rd. Pick up passengers at Broadmeadow Station. Drive to Coonabarabran via Denman, Merriwa and Coolah. 4th April. Siding Springs Observatory, Visitor Information Centre, Warrumbungles Grand High Tops 12km bushwalk, Crystal Kingdom Gem Shop. 5th April. Drive to Baradine. Pilliga Forest Discovery Centre, Sculptures in the Scrub 3km bushwalk, Sandstone Caves, Aboriginal Rock Art 2km walk. 6th April. Return to Newcastle via Premer, Spring Ridge, Quirindi, Burning Mountain 4km bushwalk, Scone, Muswellbrook and Singleton.

ACCOMODATION. We have booked rooms for everyone at All Travellers Motel, which is a short walk to shops, hotels and Woolworths.

HOLIDAY COST. $750pp twin share rooms. Includes 4 nights twin share motel accommodation for 10 people, 5 days minibus hire, fuel and extra kilometres. ( Single Rooms available $975pp )

PAYMENT. Please pay Chris $350 deposit by the 31st October 2025 to confirm you motel accommodation and seat on the minibus. $400 or $625 balance payments will be due for payment by 28th February.
