Caves and Lookouts around Mt Piddington (Hard)

This walk takes in amazing views of the Kanimbla Valley on the western side of the Great Western Highway near Mt Victoria in the Blue Mountains.

From Mt Victoria station, we will visit Ross Cave, Pulpit Rock Lookout, Bush-rangers Cave, Rienits Pass, Witches Glen, Hornes Point (see photo), Ferris Cave, Mt Piddington Lookout, Coxs Cave and Fairy Bower before returning to Mt Victoria station.

Most of the walking is on the top of the escarpment with stunning views of the valley below. We do drop down part way into the valley via the Little ZigZag track and ascend again via the Rienits Pass track. (Total descent and ascent is around 250 metres).

TRANSPORT:
6:24am BMT from Central station P7 and arrives Mt Victoria station at 8:45am. Return trains leave hourly.

DISTANCE: 14Km
DURATION: 5-6hrs
GRADE: Hard, Bush tracks, some rough terrain, 250m up hill section.

WHAT TO BRING. Please wear good bushwalking shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen, rain jacket, first aid kit, picnic lunch and 2L water.
