Amanda Morkos and Team Tafe NSW: Tiny teams delivering big outcomes

Tuesday 10th of June will be our fifth event of 2025 and we are very excited to welcome Amanda Morkos and the design team from TAFE NSW to CCX Sydney to discuss how the team at Tafe NSW design have manage a new design program using a small design team to deliver an extensive design road map and rollout.

About Amanda Morkos
Amanda is a product and design all-rounder, equally passionate about designing good experiences as she is about leading and delivering them. Making her start as a graphic designer, she has since helped organisations shift to making braver decisions based on the needs and wants of their users.

Her career highlights have included time as a Product Manager at Future Friendly, helping the ABC to design and relaunch the triple j App; at Dept of Education, reimagining the journey for kids starting school; and with SBS, helping to define their digital strategy and ways of working.

She is now Director of Design at TAFE NSW, leading a team of great designers, changing the way students and teachers learn and deliver education.

Join Amanda and the Design Team at TAFE NSW as they share their pragmatic approach to design, which has enabled their small team to make a significant impact. Despite some constraints in team size and budget, they will discuss the creative ways they conduct discoveries, facilitate user testing, and deliver assets such as a playbook and their in-house design system. You’ll hear from Amanda about her vision and strategy, followed by Anna Sachs, Lead Designer, and Chris Taylor, Lead UX Researcher, who will explain the realities of putting it into practice.
