AWS have kindly offered to host us this month and we have talks from Pranav and Deependra from AWS and Peter Hanssens from A Cloud Guru.

Our first talk for the night will be on the importance and use of Bloom Filters:
Bloom Filters are a data and I/O optimization technique to get optimal performance/cost when working with Big Data. Participant will learn the concept of Bloom filter and how to improve performance in certain cases with real life use case.

Speakers:
Pranav Gothadiya:
Technical Account Manager at AWS and an experienced Java and Big Data Developer.
Deependra Shekhawat:
Technical account manager at AWS and have been working with large enterprise customers around data analytics use cases, helping them understand AWS services in this space and provide best practices guidance.

Our second talk of the night is on how Data Engineering has evolved at A Cloud Guru:
This talk will take you through how the various layers of the data stack within the organisation have been conceptualised and how utilising DevOps practises and the learnings from the Sydney Data Engineering meetup have taken ACG from startup to enterprise all within a serverless environment.

Peter Hanssens is a Data Engineer and manages the Data Stack at A Cloud Guru. He also organises the Sydney Data Engineering Meetup.
