'Run Everything-as-a-Service Everywhere' with Mesosphere CTO Tobi Knaup

Details
Firstly, we'd like to give a shout out to Servian for hosting this meetup... & Docker and Mesosphere for sponsoring + providing such awesome speakers!
SPEAKER 1:
Cameron Martin - Solutions Architect, Docker
Review in detail the upcoming evolution of the Docker platform and what they mean for your business. You will learn about:
• Federated Application Management: how organizations can manage and secure their applications whether running on-premises, in multiple clouds and across Kubernetes-based cloud services
• Docker Desktop's upcoming release and how it helps developers with little container knowledge to create and build containerized applications
• And more...
SPEAKER 2:
Tobi Knaup - CTO & Co-Founder, Mesosphere
Tobi will give an innovation talk on Containers for stateless and stateful application. He will talk about the evolution of containers and thought leadership from his discussions with software vendors and clients in Silicon Valley. Tobi will go into why Mesos, Docker and Kubernetes exists and what the value for the open-source communities are. Additionally he will discuss current trends around Hybrid Cloud and Edge architectures, security, multi-tenancy of Cloud Native Platforms.
SPEAKER 3:
Jörg Schad - Open Source Lead, Mesosphere
TALK TOPIC: Hybrid Cloud (Kubernetes, Spark, HDFS, …)-as-a-Service
The overall evolution towards microservices has caused a lot of IT leaders to radically rethink architectures and platforms. One can hardly keep up with the rapid onslaught on new distributed technologies. The same people who just asked yesterday, "how can we deploy Docker containers?", are now asking "how can we operate Kubernetes-as-a-Service on-premise?", and are about to start asking "how can we operate the open source frameworks of our choice, such as Spark, TensorFlow, HDFS, and more, as a service across hybrid clouds".
This session will discuss:
- Challenges of orchestrating and operating distributed and stateful services such as Kubernetes, Spark, Kafka, HDFS, TensorFlow
- Challenges of operating these technologies across hybrid clouds in containers
For example, using Kubernetes for container lifecycle management is a great step to take, but how can we manage the across the entire lifecycle (deploy, failure, resize, upgrades, and more) for multiple Kubernetes clusters?
Jörg will also showcase a Docker run application in Kubernetes using Data Services such as Kafka, Spark and other at the end of his talk.
