AUTHOR SHOWCASE at the State Library of NSW

You'll be hearing some absolutely amazing stories throughout this thought provoking day.
The speakers range from people who were told they would never walk again, but beat the odds and got the use of their legs back after putting the work in and believing they could do it, to those who've come out the other end of abusive relationships, and others who have beaten cancer and gone on to thrive. You'll even be hearing from the author of "Twins :Double Trouble Double Treat" who had 4 children under the age of 26 months and lived to tell the story; as well as leaders in the indigenous education space.

You'll leave the event admiring humanity for all of its quirks, and the unbeatable ingenuity of the human spirit after being immersed in the stories of authors who have turned adversity into a passion for helping others.
We will be wrapping the day up with an author who broke the mould in the world of indie publishing by having one of her books made into a short movie. You're in for a real treat here because you'll be one of the few people in Sydney who get to see the movie because we've been given exclusive rights to show it at this event.

Be warned though, the book and the movie it was made into opens a Pandora’s box of emotional material that some might prefer to step out for to avoid being triggered.

By the end of the day you might be ready to head up to one of Sydney's best kept secrets, because the State Library's roof top bar is the perfect place to mingle with some of the authors, or quietly sit with a drink or a coffee and contemplate what you've heard from the amazing speakers.
