Haven't made it to a Scribes session yet? Want to get to know us first? Or just looking for a drink with some spec-focused friends? Meet the Sydney Speculative Scribes team and other scribes at this social meetup.

We'll start with sharing our favourite speculative fiction (stories, books. movies, TV shows etc) from 2025 – a great time to give recommendations and find other fans of your favourite works.

Then feel free to chat about your work-in-progress, share goals and exchange writing tips for the coming year.

Writing meetups proper will begin on 28 January, but for now this is a chance to say hello and find out what we're all about.

We'll be in the Hideaway section (mezzanine of the Orchard Hotel) – ask bar staff if you are lost. You're welcome to order food and drink and join us at any time.
