Join WiMLDS Sydney for two wonderful female speakers, a panel session and a great night of networking.

Our first speaker will be Katrina Edillor, Head of Opportunities and Insights at Amatil X.

Katrina will be speaking on ML Expectation vs. Reality: Learnings from a Corporate.

Katrina is currently the Head of Opportunities and Insights in Amatil X, Coca-Cola Amatil’s corporate venturing arm. Prior to this she was the Head of Strategy for the Australian business where she drove advanced analytics, segmented execution and business strategy.

Prior to Coca-Cola Amatil, Katrina was the resident economist for the Winemakers’ Federation of Australia, and has worked in the financial services industry overseas, as a private banker and as a foreign exchange derivatives trader.

Katrina holds an economics degree from Singapore Management University and a master’s in public policy from Carnegie Mellon University.

She and her husband, Niccolo, are expecting their first child in December!

Our second speaker will be Wendy Wong, Senior Analytics Consultant at PwC.

Wendy will be discussing NLP, Alteryx, Python, as well as her experiences and tips as a female data science consultant.

Wendy is a Senior Analytics Consultant at PwC, where shes focuses on Alteryx, Tableau and Python. She is completing a Master's of Data Science at UTS and is a former editor for the Toronto-based publication Towards Data Science. She's also an R lady and co-organized the UTS Women in Data Science conference in 2018.

She's consulted on data science using NLP for the Sydney startup Jobgetter, used topic modeling in R for customer surveys at Allianz Insurance and performed multiclass classification and ensemble learning at the Australian Taxation Office to predict taxpayer behaviour.

She is an alumni from General Assembly Sydney and loves cats, writing, teaching and TED talks.
