The Tampa Bay Ukulele Society

Arrive before 11am, so that you can set up your music, tune your ukulele, and be ready to play.
Bring your ukulele, music stand, and your music so we can all play, sing, and laugh together. First time players welcomed! We have a planned & relaxed session of playing songs in a supportive atmosphere. There is a break half-way through to freshen up and get to know your neighbor.

We play the songs that are distributed a week before the event via email using a drop-box link. This link will connect you with the folder which contains the music we'll be using.

Not just a list of songs, but the songs sheets themselves. In this way we are literally on the same page! There is no confusion as to what's next, which arrangement, or which key to play the song in.

Either print the songs out, or display the songs on whatever electronic device you’re using. The songs will be in a PDF file, (portable document format), so as to be readable as intended regardless of which operating system you are using.

Greetings! We are multi-level uke players socializing and learning contemporary music on a lazy afternoon once a week. Join us with your uke in hand or check one out from the Library. Share what you know, ask questions, and play on your comfort level. But most of all, enjoy the journey!

This is the last Beginner Workshop at the Safety Harbor Library this year! Part 2 of the free beginner workshop is Wednesday, May 14 from 6:15-7:30pm at Safety Harbor Public Library, 101 Second St. N. Your teachers are Desiree Spano and Mike and Emily Stehle.

WORKSHOP: All ages (8+) are invited to learn to play the amazing Ukulele! Part 2 means more new chords, more songs to play, and enough resources for you at home to continue at your own pace in-person or online,

There will be a quick review of Part 1 (if you missed it) and going over basic chords. But you'll learn more and will be playing in "the ensemble" in minutes. By the time you leave, you'll know several basic chords (enough to play 100s of songs) and have played a handful of all-time favorites.

Music will be displayed on TV monitors, and loaner ukes provided.
6pm set up; 6:15pm start time up.
