What we’re about
We are a community Third Place for emerging and mature adult Millennials (a.k.a. Generation Y) and Generation Z. It is the time for us to forge deep relationships to make our impact on society as we ascend towards self-actualization!
Think meaningful social experiences, mentorship and a chance to bond authentically with others who want to take the initiative and put in the effort!
Curious about who makes up Gen Y and Gen Z? A quick internet search will bring you up to speed! Here’s a helpful link (Generation Names: A Guide to Generations by Year). While it’s not a black and white definition, our themes and activities will reflect the challenges and aspirations of our age cohorts.
Core Principles
Tune In & Connect (Active Listening): We listen to each other with intent and take some interest in our peers.
Be Present & Engaged (Mindfulness): Let's put those distractions aside and give our full attention to the people and moments we share.
Authenticity: Forget corporate vibes! We're a space where you can show up as your true self, quirks and all. If you've ever felt the need to mask who you are, this is your invitation to unapologetically be you. Let's make it a habit!
Stay Humble & Open (Humility): We're all on a journey, and no one here is above anyone else. Be mindful of your interactions – if conversations seem to consistently revolve around you, it might be time to adjust. Don’t dominate, elevate!
Abundance Mindset: Come with the attitude of how much you can create, give and contribute, not just materially or monetarily, but socially, emotionally and energetically.
Integrity & Accountability: Your time and energy are valued. If you RSVP, please honor that commitment. Life happens, and we understand that, but if you can't make it, update your RSVP. No-shows (RSVPing and then not attending) can derail the group's planning. If you're unsure about your availability, hold off on RSVPing and save or bookmark the event instead (save button is at the top-right of the event title usually), and you’ll get a reminder before the event.
Code of Conduct
- Unsolicited contact - Please do not message attendees who you have not yet gotten to know in person.
- No business promotion or solicitation - Your best marking tool is your rapport! Build it first, and you will earn people's trust.
- Please avoid group chats or non-event related communications in the public comment sections of the events or group. Posting public salutations or greetings may feel good, but they clutter the board for important logistical announcements or event preparation reminders. And please refrain from publicly posting the cliche “I’m new and looking forward to meeting people” or similar announcements ahead of events! If you are intentional about connecting with people, demonstrate it by attending (Virtual posts do not earn you “partial-credit kudos”.).
- Unsolicited romantic advances or the like will not be tolerated! And this applies to anyone of any gender or background. Understand the difference between civilized and inappropriate approaches. “No” means no!
About the Organizer
Tanin has actively participated in and organized various events and groups since conquering his own social anxiety in 2019. After taking over and rejuvenating the MBTI iNtuitives of North Dallas (now known as the “I & E Social Club”) from the depths of the pandemic, he founded his own group in 2021, The Conscious Growth Society, with the intention of bringing together growth-minded individuals to connect socially, participate in helping each other and community, and discuss complex topics using critical thinking and spiritual principles. The 3rd Place: Gen Y & Z Social Collective Meetup is his latest foray into forging a community but with a focus on local emerging adults to achieve self-mastery, deep connection and greater societal impact.

See all- Is the Internet Killing Us... Softly? Deep-Dive DiscussionLa Madeleine Country French Cafe, Plano, Plano, TX
Love, discipline, community, joy, optimism... To those of us who are older, these feel fleeting. To the younger folks? Perhaps nothing more than surreal fairytales in movies or old TV shows.
Krystal and Saagar deep-dive into a shocking study on their Youtube news channel, Breaking Points: Viral Chart EXPOSES Internet Fueled Personality Destruction and, in my opinion, provide a pretty solid discussion based on their own observations and study.
You can skim the study by data journalist John Burn-Murdoch here: https://www.aaronrenn.com/p/collapsing-conscientiousness. He uncovered a harrowing decline in the personality trait of Conscientiousness, which describes the ability to plan, maintain focus, follow-thru and remain disciplined. And this effect is strongest amongst Gen Z and Millennials!
What to Expect
This will be group deep-dive discussion followed by plenty of organic social time. Let’s make it a goal to connect deeply with as many people as possible! I challenge each one of you to learn the names of anyone you speak to and try to remember something interesting about them. I don't want to hear "I'm bad with names."; choose to be better!Your food and drink choices are up to you. I will do my best to facilitate and make sure everyone is connected and gets to know each other.
