Party with the Peacocks at the L.A. County Arboretum and Botanic Garden

Details
Good Evening, Afternooners!
We have missed you! It is finally time to gather again for the first time since the firestorms to celebrate spring. Please join us at the L.A. County Arboretum and Botanic Garden in Arcadia, where peacocks roam free. It will be a meandering, gentle, and mostly flat walk through the garden.
WHEN: Monday, May 26th (Memorial Day). We will meet up at 2:15 p.m. for introductions, and will start walking at 2:30 p.m. The walk will be approximately two hours, not including a break for snacks at the Peacock cafe. Please make sure to give yourself enough time to park, buy your ticket, get settled, and meet other Afternooners.
WHERE TO MEET/PARKING AND PUBLIC TRANSIT INFORMATION: The address is 301 N Baldwin Ave, Arcadia, CA 91007. The garden is located just south of I-210, Foothill Freeway, across from the Santa Anita Race Track. Here is information about public transportation to the garden. Here is a map of the grounds.
There is free parking on the premises in several lots. The main lot is closest to the entrance with the ticket office.
Please enter the ticket office, purchase your ticket, and meet us INSIDE the garden's main entrance directly outside of the ticket office.
NOTE there is a fee for admission to the garden. Here is the fee schedule:
Adults $15.00
Seniors (62 and older) $11.00
Students (w/ School ID) $11.00
Children (ages 5 to 12) $5.00
Children (ages 4 and under) FREE
We prefer to organize events that do not charge an entrance fee, but the hike we previewed for this month was not a good candidate.
BATHROOMS: Are available by the front entrance and elsewhere throughout the gardens.
BRING/WEAR: Shoes with a good grip, sunglasses, a hat, and water. Outside food is not permitted, though there is a cafe on site with food.
WEATHER: The weather is currently forecast to be 80 degrees, and there are a lot of unshaded part of this walk, so please plan accordingly.
DOGS: Dogs are unfortunately not permitted unless the dog is a service animal.
Take care, and hope to see you Memorial Day!
Best,
Sarah
