Dead Horse Ranch State Park

Dead Horse Ranch State Park is a state park located in Cottonwood on the Verde River in an area known as the Verde River Greenway. Dead Horse Ranch State Park covers 423 acres with 10 miles of hiking trails and a lagoon for fishing. Dead Horse Ranch has an equestrian concessionaire on the park who leads wrangler-guided trail rides. There are also kayak, canoe and tube rentals for the Verde river (rentals are outside the park). Old Town Cottonwood is also a fun place to walk around and get a bite to eat.
