About This Ride: After many requests, we're finally going to ride the Silver Comet Trail to the Alabama border.

We'll ride the Silver Comet trail through the woods and out to the GA - AL border. This will be an out-and-back trail of about 35 miles, but except for a couple of hills around mile marker 45, the ride will be on fairly flat paved greenway. That said, mountain, road, or gravel bikes all work, but to keep the group together, suggest road bikes - and no electic bikes unless you want to wait for the rest of us to catch up!

Where To Meet: Please meet at the Don Williams trailhead on Hendrix Road (just off of 278). This is at mile marker 44.8, so we'll have about 18 miles to the Georgia/Alabama line where we can stop for a food break, then head back the same way. Google maps shows it to be a 1:20 ride from Alpharetta. This is a bit longer drive for us than usual, but well worth the time and effort.

Re The Food Break: Please bring your own food, as we'll be in the woods with no restaurant around! And as always, be sure to bring plenty of water.

See you on the trail!
