Plot Summary: The follows introverted Joel Barish and impulsive Clementine, who, after a painful breakup, undergo a procedure at Lacuna, Inc. to erase each other from their memories; however, during Joel's procedure, he relives his memories in reverse, falls in love with Clementine again, and tries to fight the erasure to save their past, even as the technicians mess up and reveal their own complicated pasts, leading to the poignant conclusion that some pain might be worth keeping for love's sake.
