Fahnestock State Park, 8-mile hike. Picnic to follow.

Discover this approximately 8-mile hike in Fahnestock State Park. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 4 hours to complete. I, myself, did this hike in just under 4 hours! So, please don't sign up if you feel that you can't keep this pace.

This hike will have over 1,300ft of elevation changes. We will witness wonderfully built rock walls, beautiful lookouts, and an occasional waterfall. I'm new to hiking in this area because it is such a travel for me, BUT... this is a spectacular place with many different trails that I hope that we'll incorporate into our regular rotation. If picnic is scheduled, and you'd like to join, please bring something that could be shared (i.e. potluck).

Parking will be at the Pelton Pond parking lot.

We do ask for a contribution of $3 per hike, or $15 per year, to cover meetup.com fees and our annual social event. No pets allowed.
