What we’re about
What are The Journey Gatherings?
The Journey Gatherings are low-key meetups around the UK, for curious humans who like their connection with a side of nature, reflection, and no-pressure conversation.
We walk. We wonder. Sometimes we drink tea, eat snacks and hide anonymous notecards for strangers to find (you’ll be gifted a couple of cards to keep too!) There’s usually a prompt or a question to reflect on, but no forced sharing. Just gentle structure to make the weirdness of meeting strangers feel slightly less awkward and a little more fun and curious.
Born from The Journey Cards project - my own practice of leaving anonymous handwritten notes out in the world for strangers to find - these gatherings invite you to drop into your body, get outside, and connect with real people doing life imperfectly.

See all- Sandy RSPB Nature Reserve Mindful Walk & TalkThe Lodge, RSPB Headquarters, Sandy
EDIT: I have updated the event information to match the full details in the Facebook group as I noticed more people were joining from here.
I look forward to meeting you for a mindful walk and talk in the RSPB nature reserve in Sandy. We'll meet in the carpark adjacent to the lodge (shop near main entrance). Note: no dogs (as they are not allowed in all areas of the reserve)
The carpark is £6 for non-members, but if you are happy to walk further you can always park for free in Furzenhall Road in Biggleswade and walk across the field footpath into the reserve - this is what i'll be doing and i'd be happy to meet you there at 11am.
Walk route (we may make it slightly shorter) viewed in AllTrails:
https://www.alltrails.com/en-gb/trail/england/bedfordshire/rspb-the-lodge-nature-reserve-circularHere's the overall structure:
- We'll meet in the RSPB carpark at 11:30am. I'll introduce myself, share The Journey Cards with you (to keep or to write and leave on the route) and share a reflection.
- The walk will be roughly 1.5-2 hours and 6-7km. There is some gradient around the reserve but it's not too strenuous. I'd class the walk as moderate.
- There will be a stop mid way for a drink/snacks (so bring something with you especially if it's hot).
- We'll wrap up at the end with a mindful group share (totally optional) and then be on our way!Any questions, message me here or feel free to join my Whatsapp community link below to be kept in the know about new event information and important event updates.
