The Question Concerning Technology—A Live Reading
Details
Join us for a companion reading and open dialogue on Martin Heidegger’s The Question Concerning Technology—a key philosophical text that asks what technology truly is, beyond tools and machines. This session connects directly to our current Ouroboros Book Club reading, Seeing Through the World, by Jeremy Johnson (and is referenced in the book). We will be expanding on its central themes through Heidegger’s lens of “enframing,” “revealing,” and the human relationship to Being.
We’ll explore how these ideas relate not only to our main text, but also to broader contemporary questions — Artificial Intelligence, automation, and the ethical use of technology in a world increasingly shaped by algorithmic systems.
Hosted on our Discord, this will follow our signature Ouroboros format: short readings, slow thinking, and thoughtful dialectic exchange based on our charter and Notes on Dialogue (Stringfellow Barr). I’ll read the essay, and then we can open the floor to talk about key concepts, trace how they relate to our primary book, and engage in deeper shared inquiry.
