What we’re about
The Sober Hang is a vibrant community created by and for women in the Twin Cities who are embracing life alcohol-free. Whether you're committed to sobriety or sober-curious, we provide a welcoming space to connect, create, and thrive without alcohol. Through our curated meetups, outdoor adventures, intimate coffee chats, and hands-on art projects, we're reimagining social connection and self-discovery in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
Our mission is simple: to foster genuine connections and creative expression in an alcohol-free environment. We believe that some of life's most meaningful moments happen over a perfect cup of coffee, during a shared creative project, on a hike through the woods, or in authentic conversations with women who understand your journey.
There is no over-arching recovery philosophy that runs this group, anyone can join. Please don’t preach your chosen recovery method if you have one. Respect the differences and opinions of others. We’re all on the same journey, and we’ve most likely taken very different paths to get here.
We are looking to build a well-rounded calendar of events, some of which will be free and some will have a fee.
MEET THE CO-FOUNDERS
As co-founders of The Sober Hang, Aimee and Krysty understand firsthand the desire for meaningful connections and alcohol-free spaces that don't feel like a compromise. Our combined journeys led us to recognize a gap in our community – the need for a space where women can explore their creativity, the outdoors, build friendships, and grow personally without the pressure of alcohol.
We created The Sober Hang because we believe that sobriety shouldn't mean sacrificing social connection or fun. Through our own experiences, we've discovered that some of life's most authentic and enriching moments happen in spaces where we can truly be ourselves, without the social crutch of alcohol.
By bringing together creativity, outdoor adventures, community, and conscious living, we're committed to creating experiences that inspire, support, and celebrate women at every stage of their sober or sober-curious journey.
