Book Discussion - The Difference Engine

For our September meeting, we shall be discussing The Difference Engine, by William Gibson & Bruce Sterling. It is 1855, the Industrial Revolution, and the vagaries of invention bring the computer age into full swing a century early. Sterling and Gibson collaborate in a novel that is part detective story, part historical thriller, bringing three characters together in a rendezvous with history and the future.
