Upper Sycamore Before the Rains - Gentler Hike at 8:30am - RAIN CANCELS

This lollipop hike is about 5 miles with 400 feet of elevation gain and loss. Starting early will help to avoid the rain (rain cancels!) and hopefully the humidity won't be too bad as the thunderclouds approach.

The hike drops down into Sycamore Canyon, crosses the bridge, then follows the stream along Upper Sycamore over a few (hopefully dry) water crossings to the "Big Oak Tree" intersection. Those of you who want extra mileage can turn right to the waterfall (and abundant poison oak) as the rest of us climb the Danielson fire road for some fantastic canyon-side views on our way up to the grasslands and chaparral, returning to the parking lot.

• There are no "Plus One's" on this hike.
• All participants must be 18 or older, or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
• Plan on completing the entire hike at an gentler pace or please find an alternative hike that better suits your hiking level.
• No dogs allowed.
