Edinburgh Festival Walk. Dean Village, Calton Hill, Arthurs Seat, Blackford Hill

Details

Weather looking lovely this Sunday to discover some amazing bits of Edinburgh and take in some of the festival.

Meeting out the front of Haymarket Train Station (Marks & Spencer) We will be leaving sharp at 11am before we visit the pretty Deans Village, Stockbridge/New Town to Calton Hill with 360' views of Edinburgh.
From there we will head to Holyrood/Castle then up Arthurs Seat, before walking down to The Meadows for some lunch and free entertainment! The walk will then take us through the affluent Newington area then up to Blackford Hill for another viewpoint of Edinburgh before finishing with drinks back at the George Square Festival Bar.

Walkers rsvping understand to do entire route at around 3kmp. Average walking pace. Reasonable fitness required. Walk about 10 miles.

George Square is a 15 minute walk to Princes St, Haymarket Station.

Note-

  • This is not a race but at a nice pace with a social aspect to it.
  • +1's now have to be members to rsvp and fully understand the walk they plan to attend.
  • I reserve the right to remove people back onto a waitlist if they have a history of 'no shows' whilst at same time adding people if waitlisted who have a good attendance record.
  • As always, please ensure you change your RSVP if you can't make a walk in plenty of time, not showing up without giving notification is not considered acceptable etiquette. If you have a history of non-attendance or cancelling at the last minute, don't bother putting yourself down for this walk. My time is important as a volunteer and see all safely enjoy and do this walk.

Thanks
Norlyn
