For our first Indian food meetup of the new year, we’ll gather at Kokam Cafe (Vrouwenregt 5, Delft) — a cosy, vegetarian/vegan Indian restaurant tucked into the heart of Delft’s historic centre. Expect warm lighting, friendly vibes, and an inviting atmosphere to enjoy some of India’s best street-food classics together.

Kokam Cafe focuses on vegetarian and vegan dishes — bold flavours, fresh spices, and home-style cooking that transports you to India.

Some great dishes we might share:

  • Pav Bhaji — a vibrant medley of mixed vegetables simmered in tomato-based gravy, served with soft buttered buns and a salad. Rich, aromatic, and a perfect communal dish.
  • Chole Bhature — hearty spiced chickpeas cooked in a fragrant blend of spices, paired with two fluffy, specially baked ‘bhature’. Hearty, filling and deeply satisfying.
  • Samosas or Samosa Chaat — crispy triangular pastry filled with spiced potatoes, sometimes served “chaat-style” with chutneys, yoghurt and herbs. Great as a shared starter or snack.
  • Dahi Puri or Papdi Chaat — crunchy puris topped with chickpeas, potato, herbs, yoghurt and tangy chutneys — fun finger-food that’s full of texture and flavor.

And don’t forget — fresh naan or paratha bread to scoop up curries, and perhaps ending with a sweet: maybe Gulab Jamun with Rabdi or Ras Malai for dessert.

For drinks: a refreshing Kokam Sarbat or Nutmeg-saffron Lassi, or — if you prefer — a warm Masala Chai.
