What we’re about
Welcome to The Project Community - Wellington (formerly known as the PRINCE2 User Group Meetup). This group was formed in 2009 to help support those adopting PRINCE2 in the Wellington Region. We are connected to The Project Community - Auckland (also formerly known as the PRINCE2 Auckland User Group) who had their first meeting on September 18, 2012. Both groups will continue to hold free sessions throughout the year and continue to support those interested in getting their PRINCE2 foundation or practitioner qualifications but we want to actively promote and support capabilities in those other areas of project management, programme management, portfolio management, project office management, benefits management, strategic realisation and change management. We'll also take an interest in digitisation, Agile development, Business intelligence and Artificial intelligence. If you can do a project with it, then we're interested in it.
Note, there is no formal constitution and membership is free. Costs of venues, food and liquid refreshments at our meetings are through the generosity of our sponsors.
What the group is:
• Forward thinking and positive
• A great place to network at a professional level
• Diverse - in terms of views and membership
• Focused on sharing and learning from each other
• Embracing relevant new technologies and new thinking
Further information on the group's history and objectives is on the "about the user group" page www.prince2.org.nz

See all- What is Product Management?Deloitte, Wellington
And what’s its relationship with Project, Programme, and Portfolio Management?
Are you a little fatigued or tired with Project Management? Then Product Management could be the thing you pivot to next in your career!
Presenter: Youssef Mourra, Founder & Principal Consultant, Nonsuch. Youssef Mourra | LinkedIn
He has over 30+ years’ experience in Project, Programme, Product, and Portfolio Management (P4M). He loves every aspect of the P4M world. He loves deconstructing any pomposity that goes with P4M and always ensures his presentations are accessible, interesting, and entertaining. Please come along and learn more about the slightly alternate world of Product Management. He’ll help you understand what Product Management is and how it is different to Project, Programme, and Portfolio Management. He’ll also show all four work and play nicely together.
PMOs and EPOs. Are they still of use and are they providing value to their organisations?
Panel: We take it for granted that any organisation of a size that has monies and ambition set aside to change their organisation or take up strategic opportunities would set up a Project Management Office (PMO) and/or Enterprise Portfolio Office (EPMO). We’ve been doing this for decades. But the time might be to check in and ensure there is not only a role for the PMO/EPO but that they are still providing value or otherwise to their host organisation. Come along and throw some questions at the panel no matter how tricky!
