SUMMARY
On this out and back snowshoe hike in Eldorado National Forest, Carson Pass Area, and the Sierras; will snowshoe to and from Woods Lake for about 4 miles with an overall elevation gain of about 400 feet.

MEETING TIMES AND PLACES
For carpooling, meet 7:30am at Iron Point Park & Ride lot next to ligth rail station and below a vacant building that use to be McDonald's in Folsom, and address is 150 Iron Point Rd, Folsom, CA 95630. Please pay carpool driver the current price of gas per gallon.

For those meeting directly at trailhead, meet 9:45am at Meiss Meadow Sno-Park, which is located on the north side of Highway 88 near Carson Pass in El Dorado National Forest, and one of Google GPS coordinates for locating the sno-park is 38.696537,-119.991721
Also, in case of no cell phone reception at the trailhead or sno park; view, download, and print driving directions to Meiss Meadow Sno Park from your home or Iron Point Park and Ride in Folsom.

SNOWSHOE HIKE INFORMATION AND ESSENTIALS
SNOWSHOE HIKE LEVEL: Moderate due to some hills and high altitude.
DISTANCE: About 4 miles roundtrip, about 2 miles out, then about 2 miles back.
ELEVATION: About 400 feet in elevation gain.
SNOWSHOE HIKE TIME: About 4 hour's with breaks in between.
SNOWSHOE HIKE ROUTE: Carefully and quickly cross the highway, then put on snowshoes, then start snowshoeing mostly and gradually downhill on FS road nunber 10N01, Road APL122, and Woods Lake Rd to Woods Lake. Have lunch near the lake for about 30 minutes, then snowshoe mostly and gradually uphill back to the starting point on the same routes for about 2 miles.

SNOWSHOE HIKE ESSENTIALS: Bring snowshoes, ski poles, waterproof jecket and pants/gaiters, waterproof boots, warm clothing made out of wool or polypro (no cotton), sun protection (sunglasses, hat, etc), lots of water, snacks/small lunch, electrolytes, first aid kit, cell phone for emergencies, and a map/compass if needed.
