What are you doing this President’s Day? It’s a National Holiday, so no reason to laze around and do nothing. Join us on an excellent adventure in the Bay Area to Mission Peak (2,517 feet).

The most popular trail to Mission Peak is the Hidden Valley Trail, starting from the Stanford Avenue Staging Area in Fremont. However, I have decided to take the less strenuous route from Ohlone College Trailhead which adds just about a mile each direction. Total round trip distance is just over 8 miles and 2,200 feet of elevation gain.

GEAR:

Hiking shoes with good traction; hiking poles (necessary); layers for changeable weather conditions, Water 3-4 liters, Lunch and Snacks to sustain a 8-mile RT hike. We may get caught in passing rain showers so a rain iacket is needed.
