Cancellations, No-Shows, and Communication Policy
If you're feeling sick or unwell, we completely understand — your health comes first! We kindly ask that you take a moment to update your RSVP to "Not Attending" as soon as you're able, even if it's just a quick update when you have a minute.
For all group events, please update your RSVP at least two hours before the event if you can no longer attend.
We enforce a three-strike policy for no-shows or lack of communication. After three instances of missing an event without notice, members will be removed from the group.

Renoir - 2025 Asian Film Festival Film

Renoir (2025) — a beautifully photographed, emotionally rich coming-of-age drama set in suburban Tokyo in 1987. Film is 118 mins long, Japanese but subtitled.
📝 Synopsis (without major spoilers):
11-year-old Fuki lives in a Tokyo suburb in the summer of ’87. Her father is battling cancer, her mother is juggling work and worry, and Fuki finds herself increasingly distanced from the world of adults — retreating into her own inner life, fantasies, and a subtle undercurrent of telepathic curiosity.
The film explores family, grief, disconnection, and the strange ways children make sense of the adult world.
😮 Why you’ll love it / what to look for:- A rich 1980s Tokyo setting (bubble-economy Japan) that underpins the emotional weight of the story.
- A sensitive performance by newcomer Yui Suzuki (as Fuki) and a mature directorial voice from Hayakawa.
