Townsville Insight Meditation Sangha Weekly Sits
Details
### Townsville Insight Meditation – Weekly Sit
When: Starting 23 October 2025 - Thursdays, 6:30–8:00 pm
Where: QCWA Rosslea Hall, 36 Latchford Street, Pimlico
Join a small, friendly group for weekly insight meditation practice. The group is open to everyone—whether you’re completely new to meditation or have an established practice.
Each session includes a guided meditation or silent sitting, followed by time for reflection or discussion. The aim is simply to practice together and support one another in developing mindfulness, compassion, and clarity in daily life.
A few practical bits:
If you have your own cushion, feel free to bring it. There’ll be a few spares available too. The floor is tiled, so a yoga mat or zabuton can make sitting more comfortable if you plan to sit on the floor. Chairs are also available if that’s easier.
About dana (generosity):
The group runs entirely on dana. Attendance is free, but if you’d like to contribute, donations help cover hall hire and small things like cushions or supplies. There’s no expectation—please only give if you wish to support the continuation of the group.
About the facilitator:
Sean is currently studying the Mindfulness and Compassion Teacher Training Course with Subhana Barzaghi and Allan Bassal. He has attended retreats with teachers including Malcolm Huxter, Suzie Brown, and Lisa Brown, and previously spent time as a novice monk in the Ch’an tradition.
