Here’s how it works: First part: Quiet reading on your own—bring a book you’re exploring, whether it’s philosophy, history, psychology, literature, or anything meaningful to you. Second part: We regroup and each person shares key takeaways, insights, or questions sparked by their reading. Shilohites Toastmasters meets every 2nd and 4th Sundays. Meetings start at 4:00 pm, and last one hour. We are a community club open to all. Parking is free. We focus on personal goals for professional development.

Join us for a playdate at the Wheaton Library! There is a nice area for children to engage in free play while the parents get to know each other. There is a cafe on-site (coffee, pastries and light fare), but food and beverages aren’t allowed in the play area. Not a Montgomery County resident? We’re residents but have never been asked to show our card. We simply walk in and go directly to the children’s section (after you walk into the library turn left and head all the way back). In the first 30 minutes of class, Qi Gong(5 organ and spirit enlivening)exercises are taught. In the last hour, the class is divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced groups and are taught Lao (old) Yang Tai Chi Chuan.

Come to Ellsworth Park with your little one for a fun time. Make a swing buddy. Explore one of downtown Silver Spring's park. Ellsworth Park is located next to the Friends of the Library Bookstore (old Silver Spring Library). There is parking, but if you live in downtown Silver Spring, it is just a short walk up Colesville Rd. The park has plenty of trees for shade. Two different play ages for younger and older kids to have fun. Hope to see you there.

**400**: Amazingly, this is our 400th event! A big, big, big thank you to all the members who have made the Hilliard Wine Club a great place to meet friends and drink wine. Thank you. **Smashburgers**: We'll close the doors at Alive614 a little early this evening to take a short trip to Wilson's, a new restaurant/bar that replaced Yabo's. I'm going for the smash burgers, but if that's not in your culinary wheelhouse they have a fairly generous menu featuring "Smash burgers, wings, Tex‑Mex", etc. : https://wilsonshilliard.com/menu/ . **On Freestyle night** \- just bring a bottle to share\. There is NO formal wine tasting like on other weeks\. Door charge is $10 \(cash or Venmo only please\)\. We may have some left over wines to clear out\! Glasses are provided\. Take Care\.
