It is a rare chance to both get out of the city and give these dogs some well-deserved love & adventure. The team from the rescue will join us to share stories about the dogs and the incredible work that goes into finding them forever homes. After the hike, we will offer plenty of head scratches before heading to a nearby waterfall for a peaceful lunch. It is the perfect setting to switch off and soak in the stillness of the woods. Join us at Tommy Thompson Park for the TRCA Spring Bird Festival, where guided walks, kids' activities, live animals, and free trees await. These include, creating an atmosphere free of judgement, saying 'yes', active listening, being positive, putting your focus on others, and the importance of play and laughter. Not coincidentally, these are the same things that happen to us naturally when we are bonding with another person. In this class, we'll explore these techniques not with the goal of being funny, but with the goal of being people that other people want to be around. The teacher, Ralph MacLeod, is a co-founder of two independent improv clubs in Toronto - Bad Dog Theatre and Social Capital Theatre. He's been teaching improv for over 30 years. We’re bringing back Adult Field Day. Last year was a good mix of competition and just hanging out, so we’re doing it again with some new games mixed in. Think team-based challenges, simple races, and a few things inspired by game shows. You don’t need to be athletic. Most of the fun is just being part of a team and getting to know people you wouldn’t normally talk to. The goal isn’t really winning. It’s meeting people, laughing a bit, and leaving knowing a few more names than when you showed up. If you stick around after, we’ll have a potluck cookout. This is at a race and there is a race that night be sure to check it out $15 cash only after the race about 11:30 or so we’ll start partying by the bonfire.
