Singapore Founders Meetup: Work, Money, Belonging, and e-Nations
**About the Event**
The global architecture around us, work, money, and nations, are being reimagined for a hyper digital borderless world.
\*\*\*REGISTER [HERE](https://luma.com/j78i1hau)\*\*\*
This is a joint event between [e-America](https://e-america.org/), [Aspire](https://aspireapp.com/), and [Mamba Partners](https://www.mambapartners.com/).
We are bringing together a small group of founders, builders and investors in Singapore for a casual evening of community building.
The theme of the event is that the core systems we rely on, how we work, how we earn, and how we belong, are starting to change.
Across Asia, startups are increasingly being built across multiple markets from day one. Talent is fluid across cities like Singapore, Bangalore, and Hong Kong. Capital is global. And new forms of coordination are beginning to emerge alongside these shifts.
We will spend a bit of time exploring these ideas, then keep things open and social.
**Format**
Short and casual panel
Short Q&A
Networking, light snacks and drinks
**Speakers**
-[James Sun](https://www.linkedin.com/in/jamessun1/), Founder of [Mamba Partners](https://www.mambapartners.com/)
-[Vikram Bharati](https://www.linkedin.com/in/vikrambharati/), Co-Founder of [e-America](https://e-america.org/)
-[Alyssa Ng Misialek](https://www.linkedin.com/in/alyssanicoleng/), Head of [Aspire for Startups](https://aspireapp.com/)
**What We’ll Explore**
-**Work:** New models of earning, participation, and ownership
-**Money:** Global banking, money movement, and what breaks
-**e-Nations:** Digital citizenship, borderless nations, and new forms of belonging
**Who Should Come**
Startup founders building or thinking globally, especially those operating across Asia, curious about where work, money, and e-nations are heading.

Live Share Care walk in support of Pack2Treat with Adventures Unlimited
🌿 Adventure Unlimited Live Share Care Walk – Pack2Treat Support Event 🌿
Join us for a meaningful morning of connection, care, and gentle movement in support of Pack2Treat.
We begin our Live Share Care Walk from **Katong Park MRT (Exit 1)**, stepping out into the soft coastal air where the east coast breeze meets early morning light. The route carries us through a refreshing blend of sea-side calm, park connectors, and river-side paths, where city noise slowly fades into rustling trees, open skies, and the rhythm of shared footsteps.
[Pls note TEL late opening at 8.30am.]
This is not just a walk — it is a journey through Singapore’s everyday beauty, from coastal neighbourhoods into the heart of our river corridors, ending at Geylang Bahru Market.
At Geylang Bahru, we come together for a lunch distribution for elderly residents, especially seniors living alone. This is the heart of our purpose — to share warmth, dignity, and care through food and presence.
After the walk, all participants are warmly invited to:
\*Grab a simple brunch before
spend time supporting older hawkers, provision shops, and mom-and-pop stores in the market
These small businesses and elderly vendors are part of the same living fabric we are walking for — let’s continue that care with our choices and support.
🕛 Important reminder: Lunch for the elderly will be served by 12 noon sharp, so please enjoy a light brunch beforehand and return with energy and heart for the service.
Let’s walk not just for health, but for community.
For our seniors. For our hawkers. For each other. 🌱
Walk Distance : 9km - 2 hrs easy
Brunch and Food marketing : 1.5 hr
Food distribution : 1 hr
**As of May all pack2treat schedule will be change so that participants can join us to shop and distribute food . Pickleball & Breakfast - 90 mins Pickleball Play. Padel provided
Ever wished making new friends as an adult was actually fun? This is your Saturday morning sorted.
**Welcome to Gotomo — where strangers become Tomos.**
**Pickleball & Breakfast** — we're keeping it small, real, and ridiculously good — a Circle of Six on the court, followed by breakfast with your new Tomos. No awkward intros. No giant crowds. Just six people, good energy, and a morning you'll actually want to repeat.
**No experience needed.** Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing social sports for a reason — it's dead simple to pick up, laughably fun, and ridiculously good at breaking the ice. We'll have paddles, balls, and our patient coaches who'll show you the ropes at the beginning.
**Here’s how the morning flows:**
* ☀️ Arrive, meet your Circle of Six
* 🏓 Warm up & play — 90 mins of pickleball (beginner-friendly, I promise)
* 🍳 Head out for breakfast together (self-paid — good food, better company)
* 💬 The Gotomo Moment — connection happens here
* 🤝 Grow your circle or join the next one
**What to bring:**
* Comfortable sports clothes & sneakers
* A water bottle
* Your actual self (leave the awkward small talk at home — we've got games for that)
**What we've got covered:**
* Paddles & equipment
* Pickleball court + breakfast spot, all booked for you
* Good people
Spots are capped at 6 — because that's the whole point. Intimate. Real. We run 2 groups of 6 across 2 courts, so every Circle gets its own vibe.
**How to join your Circle of Six:**

What does it mean to think critically?
Most of us were told to think critically at school. Almost none of us were taught how.
That gap was always there. It's just that now you're making hundreds of decisions a day inside systems specifically designed to exploit it. Feeds that reward reaction over reflection, content that's optimised to feel true rather than be true, and AI that can generate a convincing argument for almost anything. The cost of not thinking carefully has never been higher. Neither has the pressure not to bother. In this discussion, we visit this topic with the intent of simply thinking about it, because we believe this is the first step against a quiet avoidance of a very real problem.
***Some questions we'll be sitting with:***
* When did someone last genuinely change your mind — and what did it take?
* Is there a difference between thinking critically and just being difficult?
* Are you choosing what to learn based on who you are, or who you think you should be?
* How is AI changing the way you think?
* Can you think clearly about something you care deeply about?
* What would you believe differently if you'd grown up somewhere else?
**What to expect**
The format is conversational. We sit in a circle. There's a short provocation to open ie a reading, a question, a claim worth disputing. Then we talk. A facilitator keeps things moving and honest. Sessions run two hours.
This is Session One. It's free. Seating is intentionally capped at 20 so the conversation stays real. Come with an open mind and connect with like-minded people.
**The Postmodern Place** is a monthly discussion community for people who want to engage seriously with ideas. Philosophy, society, culture, the forces shaping how we live. We read carefully, argue honestly, and try to leave with a clearer picture than when we walked in.
No academic background required. No prior reading necessary. The only thing you need to bring is a willingness to think out loud with strangers.
Sketches & Stories with Joon
Join us for a laid-back drawing session with Joon, an artist originally from Korea who lived in New York before making Singapore home.
We’ll draw together, but that’s just the starting point. Expect conversations about travel, museums, what it’s like to build a life across different cities, and the friendships that form across cultures. Bring your stories, some paper, a pencil/pen, or just yourself.
Can’t draw? That’s fine. Neither can most of us. Beginners very welcome — we’ll keep it simple.
Find Joon’s work on Instagram at [@joonartistic](https://www.instagram.com/joonartistic/).
📍 Yugoslavia Cage, KINEX Mall — near Paya Lebar MRT
🆓 Free as always. Just buy a drink or snack from the cafe to support the space.

Drunken Philosophy: What’s up with all the AI hate?
**Welcome to Drunken Philosophy** a casual, curious social discussion
**Optional topic for this meetup: What's up with all the AI hate?**
A recent survey found that 74% of Americans have a negative view of AI, and I want to know why. Come out and debate whether AI is good or bad.
My hot take: a labor-saving tool that could potentially help cure cancer gets called dangerous because it might raise unemployment or cause a speculative investment bubble, that tells you a lot more about capitalism and the economic system we live under than it does about the tool itself. As a computer programmer, I think AI is a wonderful tool that has increased my productivity by at least an order of magnitude. I'd go so far as to say Claude Code is the best tool I have ever used. Debate me and name a better one.
Is AI potentially dangerous? Yes, but so are a lot of tools. Chainsaws. Steam engines (early ones would occasionally explode and kill everyone in the room). Do you think cavemen sat around debating whether fire could be used as a weapon or for self-harm, and decided not to discover it?
I have two friends who hate AI for opposite reasons: one thinks it's a fad and not useful, and the other thinks it's going to take over everything and cause human extinction.
Come out tonight, have a friendly debate, and make some friends.
No lectures. Friendly crowd. Drop in for one drink and stay if it's fun.

Saturday Mornings @ East Market
Let's grab some coffee/food and share a morning chat! The East Market has an ample parking lot and outdoor and indoor seating.
Grab a cup of coffee from Winston's Coffee & Waffles or on your way to East Market and meet us on the second floor - table behind or east of the elevator.
Per what this group is about:
"Everyone is welcome! International transplants to Columbus who want to improve language skills, Columbus residents who enjoy talking to people from other countries, and those who would like to discuss international travel and culture, and who enjoy getting together for good conversations."
Free In-Person Meeting: Get Over Losses & Betrayals, Build Lasting Relationships
This is a free, in-person meeting on the subject of betrayals, losses and how to get over them so you can build lasting relationships.
Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse.
Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well.
Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship.
Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action?
Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships!
Break free from self imposed limitations
Here we will discuss:
• How to “erase” the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes.
• Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you?
• Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it?
• Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love?
• Fights & arguments - what's really behind them?
• What underlies “corrosive criticism” or the need to invalidate self or others?
• How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change?
• Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them?
• How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about?
• How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career?
Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general.
Learn where painful experiences are “stored” and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can “erase” those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become “toxic” personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person.
Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life.
We look forward to having you join us!
