Le Musée de la LIbération organise une exposition autour de Robert Capa : "Robert Capa a inventé un style : le photographe de guerre, l’œil rivé à l’objectif, le scoop toujours à l’esprit. Témoin engagé, son regard a marqué durablement l’histoire du photojournalisme et a façonné la figure nouvelle du photographe de guerre. Le musée de la Libération de Paris - musée du général Leclerc - musée Jean Moulin propose, avec la collaboration exceptionnelle de Magnum Photos, une relecture contextualisée de son oeuvre. Plus de soixante tirages de presse d’époque sont présentés aux côtés de magazines, ouvrages, documents et objets personnels. Ensemble, ces cent soixante pièces retracent ainsi le parcours d’un jeune immigré hongrois devenu une icône de la photographie moderne." À l’occasion de la parution de *La fin d’un monde*, nous sommes heureux de vous accueillir pour une après-midi rencontre avec Pierre Haski. Au cours d’un échange, Pierre Haski reviendra non seulement sur les transformations profondes des équilibres géopolitiques, mais aussi sur ses expériences personnelles de terrain. Derrière ce constat, se dessine une question essentielle : quel monde sommes-nous en train de construire ? — « Je suis né avec la décolonisation de l’Afrique que j’ai sillonnée de long en large ; j’ai grandi avec la guerre froide, que j’ai vue disparaître au centre de l’Europe ; j’ai été témoin de l’essor inexorable, majeur, de la Chine; j’ai parcouru les terres meurtries du Proche-Orient ; et je tente chaque matin, depuis huit ans, d’analyser au micro de France Inter la bascule du monde. Cela fait un demi-siècle que j’accompagne, en tant que journaliste – reporter, correspondant ou éditorialiste – et pour le meilleur comme le pire, les transformations de notre planète. Or ce monde est devenu plus difficile à “lire”, plus déroutant, plus inquiétant également. Dans ce récit, je puise dans mes expériences, mes rencontres, mon histoire personnelle aussi, de quoi expliquer ce que nous vivons aujourd’hui : la fin d’un monde, celui qui est sorti de la Seconde Guerre mondiale avec ses institutions imparfaites et ses règles de droit souvent malmenées. Le monde d’aujourd’hui n’est déjà plus celui d’hier. Celui de demain sera-t-il celui des rapports de force et des systèmes autoritaires, ou aurons-nous lasagesse d’en bâtir un nouveau, plus équitable et ouvert ? »

Le quartier Charonne a conservé ses airs de village. Il abrite plusieurs jardins bien cachés dans des styles bien différents. Un point commun quand même : ce ne sont pas des parcs urbains là juste pour être jolis et sympa, ils existent pour permettre à des gens de cultiver des fruits, légumes et fleurs. Oh et ils sont jolis aussi ;) Et les gens qui y font pousser des choses seront là et pourront vous parler de leur expérience dans ces lieux uniques. On ira aussi visiter une charmante église qui date du XIIè siècle. Saint-Germain, vous connaissez ? Non, pas Saint-Germain des Prés ;) Même avec toute cette verdure qu'on va traverser, celle-ci n'a rien à voir avec les Prés. Le tout en moins de 2km, donc un parcours assez court, ce qui nous permettra de garder un rythme très tranquille. On aura donc plein de temps pour nous aérer les poumons au cœur de ces parenthèses bucoliques en pleine ville. Rendez-vous devant la mairie du XXè. Prévenez-moi si vous allez arriver tard. Sinon, on commence à bouger à 13h pile. (en) Charonne is a neighbourhood that still feels a bit like the village it used to be. It hosts some well hidden gardens and we'll visit some in very different styles. They do have one thing in common: they're not city parks that exist just to look and feel good, they're here to give people an opportunity to grow fruits, veggies and flowers. They do look and feel good too ;) And the people who grow stuff there will be there to talk with you about their experience in these unique places. Oh and we'll also visit a lovely little church from the 12th century. Ever heard of Saint-Germain? No, not Saint-Germain des Prés, though we will cross some green spaces indeed ;) Less than 2km total, so a shortish walk, which will let us go at a leisurely pace. Which will give us plenty of time to get our dose of fresh air and enjoy these pastoral breaks at the heart of the city. Let's meet in front of the 20th district City Hall. Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process. Normal process • Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/). • Attend orientation in advance. • At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility. • Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM. • Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895). The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014. Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
