šŸŽ‰ New Year’s Eve at Transport Bar – Federation Square
**šŸŽ‰ New Year’s Eve at Transport Bar – Federation Square** Ring in 2026 with style, sparkle, and a little cheeky fun at Transport Bar, right in the heart of Federation Square. From 5:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m., we’ll be eating, drinking, and dancing our way into the new year with Melbourne’s best company. **31 December Update** ******** Please arrive between 5pm and 8PM. Very likely their doors will shut after 8. Due to the chaos around this time of year, we have to informally take over a space as their management could not reserve us a pre designated area. I will post up a comment letting people know how to find me, the group and the area of the bar we will be in before 5PM I will let the bar staff know as well, but please use your initiative and ask any likely groups of people. I will have my phone handy so feel free to message me as well. I was hoping to have some semblance of a meet and greet, but NYE can be chaotic so it's part of the experience šŸ˜€ ####### *************** **✨ What’s on the menu?** - Optional dinner & drinks to kick things off — perfect for fueling up before the party begins. - Live bands & DJs at the ground-level public bar, keeping the energy high and the dance floor irresistible. - Fireworks over the city skyline — the ultimate backdrop for midnight kisses and flirty toasts. - Good company guaranteed — a mix of fun-loving locals and new friends ready to celebrate. **šŸø Table Reservations** We may have reserved tables available depending on group size and demand — so if you’d like a spot to anchor your night, let us know early. Ill try to confirm this situation after Xmas, no guarantees though, especially in the public bar **šŸ’ƒ The Vibe** Think playful, social, and a little daring — the perfect blend of Melbourne’s Eat, Drink and Dance spirit. Whether you’re here for the music, the fireworks, or just the thrill of meeting someone new, this is the place to be when the clock strikes midnight.

CANCELLED: Over 30s NYE Day Clubbing 4pm - 9pm
### EVENT UPDATE: This one isn’t easy to write... After a lot of thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel our NYE Day Clubbing Party at 170 Russell. The honest truth is the numbers just weren’t where they needed to be for a venue of that size, and we never want to deliver anything less than the vibes you’ve come to expect from us. All tickets will be fully refunded, with funds returning to your account within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. We also want to share that Over 30s Do It Better will be taking a break for the foreseeable future. Since launching earlier this year, we’ve had some unforgettable moments together across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Wollongong and we’ve been incredibly grateful for your support. **Some good news!** You’re invited to join us for a FREE NYE rooftop party to help welcome 2026: Metropolitan Rooftop 265 William Street, Melbourne 2:00pm – 7:00pm No tickets, no pressure, just good people and good vibes if you feel like joining us. We do recommend getting in early to avoid having to wait in lines. We’re truly sorry for any inconvenience caused. Wherever the night takes you, we hope you welcome 2026 surrounded by great people. Thank you for being part of the Over 30s Do It Better journey in 2025. For now, we’re pressing pause but never say never. The Over 30s Do It Better Team

Ms. Tregar is the co-author with John de Lancie (the actor who portrayed the character Q on Star Trek next generation) of a radio play depicting the events surrounding the Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District trial. The trial decided the issue of some of the Dover school district board members attempting to insert creationism disguised as "intelligent design" into the 9th grade biology curriculum. She will discuss the trial and the process of writing the play. (Bob Leonhard has seen the play and it is riveting and tense). Ms. Tregar's bio is below: Kristen Tregar is a dramaturg, director, playwright, and theatre teacher. She earned her Ph.D. in Drama and Theatre from the UC San Diego and UC Irvine joint program. In addition, she has a MS in Forensic Science from City University of New York- John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a MA in Educational Theatre from New York University- Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. In 2013, in collaboration with Irish colleagues, she founded *The Ireland Project*, an intercontinental devised theatre work with high school students in New York and Tallaght, Ireland. Her original short story "Far From Here" was recently published in *Stay Awhile Longer: More Scenes From Temecula Valley*. If you are new to native plants or didn't have time to collect seeds, there are ALWAYS plenty from those that do bring them! We love to see "newbies" at our seed exchange!
