Bitcoin Community Meetup 18 April 2026

FUN WRITING CHALLENGE āļø with Jakarta Creatives Vol. VI
Hello, Jakarta Writer! **Are you a member of [Jakarta Friends](https://www.meetup.com/jakarta-friends/) yet?**
Want to see **pictures** of past events? **[Take a look here!](https://www.meetup.com/jakarta-creatives/photos/)** And feel free to upload a few pictures you might take at the event š
JakWri (former Jakarta Creatives) and JakFri is **the** biggest, oldest, most active, and most inclusive MeetUp community in Jakartaā¦
...and we invite you to join us for this **Fun Writing Challenge Vol. VI**
Everyone is always welcome to join our events. Our community is all about creating authentic in-person connections in this urban jungle. Come as you are... itās the best version of yourself.
**ABOUT THE EVENT**
This event is a fun, communal event to train your creative writing muscle. **It's easy and fun, and writers with every level of expertise and every kind of experience are wleomce to join!**
This is how it works: Everyone will receive a prompt, and they will need to write a short piece based on that for about 45 minutes to 1h. After that, everyone will read or listen to what the others have written, and we will comment and discuss. We don't aim at criticizing, but at helping and elevating each other. Writing should be fun; writing together is even funnier! Sharing what you have written is optional. You can just join to unleash your creativity and follow the conversation on other's creative journeys.
We meet for a circa 2,5 hour session at Mad for Coffee in Cipete for our creative writing challenges. The writing challenge is as follows:
1. Prepare your writing kit (pen and paper, notebook, laptop, phone ⦠take your pick)
2. The theme for each writing challenge session will be different. (For example: āFools". You can refer to anything you like, from April Foolās Day to simply feeling silly for doing something.)
3. You have only 45 minutes to 1 h to write anything based on that theme, whether itās a poem, a flash fiction, a short story, or just a rant.
4. After that time, gather and start sharing what you have just written. (This is, of course, **optional** for those willing to do it.)
5. At the end we will discuss our writing process, and what we liked in other's pieces. We don't want to criticize, but to help and support each others as writers!
6. Just show up and dive into the challenge. Everyone will be working on their stuff, and we won't discuss it during writing. Youāll surprise yourself with what you can do in such a short time. **Be on time.**
After the sharing session, youāre welcome to resume your writing mode or simply hang out and chat about writing or anything related. We can also share each other's texts and give feedback, if that's something someone would like to do.

It's Firday night! Let's have the most delicious Neapoletan pizza in Jakarta at **Pizzeria Zapoli in MENTENG**. This is a new outlet from Zapoli and around the corner of MRT Bundaran HI.
Neapoletan pizza means soft dough and simple ingredients. The pizza is cooked in a typical wood-fire oven for just a few minutes, and the ingredients remain very fresh.

Jakarta Social Meet Up At Another World VR Arena!
**Join us as we explore New Worlds!** Get ready for a fun and exciting social meetup at **Another World**, a virtual reality arena at Kunningan City Mall, Jakarta.
This event will be held on **Saturday, 18 April at 7:00 p.m.**
Weāll play one or two 30 minute games, depending on the group and how the evening goes. Games can be played with **4 to 8 players at a time**, and there are **several arenas**, so we should have good flexibility on the night.
The standard 30-minute session is Rp 149,000 per person, and everyone pays for themselves.
The game lineup looks like a mix of **shooters, sci fi adventures, survival games, horror themed experiences, and lighter casual games**. There are fun shooter style games such as **Island Assault, Space Battle, Space Battle 2, and Invasion**. There are also Kernel titles that look more like sci fi survival or horror experiences, plus lighter options such as Fishing, Dance, Miners, and Tavern.
So whether you want something action heavy or something more casual, there should be a few good options.
Afterwards, we may go somewhere nearby to eat, go to karaoke, or do both, depending on the crowd.
This meetup is **open to everyone**. If you are new, coming on your own, or have never tried VR before, you are very welcome.

Drunken
This month's prompt concerns the idea of the āwarrior philosopherā (seemed appropriate in these times)--that is someone whose understanding of violence, power, and justice is forged through direct experience of war. We are looking at Major General Smedley D. Butler, a highly decorated U.S. Marine raised in a Quaker (pacifist) tradition who later became a prominent critic of American militarism (there is a wonderful biography of Gen. Butler called "Gangsters of Capitalism")
Butler's argument in *War Is a Racket* (1935): that many U.S. interventions were driven less by national defense than by corporate and financial interests, with Butler portraying himself as an enforcer for business and Wall Street. We can consider the moral ambiguity of his insider critiqueāwhether complicity strengthens or undermines credibility and also consider some of the concrete reforms he proposed (e.g., āconscriptā capital before soldiers, restrict the military to coastal defense, and have only those who fight decide on war).
Butlerās life arc clearly changed from pacifist upbringing to warrior to antiwar crusaderāand asks whether true understanding of peace requires firsthand knowledge of war, and what that implies about the cost of suffering. So do we need to suffer to understand suffering? Do we have to experience war to appreciate peace? As one more question: in the movie "A Few Good Men" Jack Nicholson's character says that "you have the luxury of not knowing what I know" so do most of us go through life oblivious to real violence and suffering? See you at Drunken Philosophy!
Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games!
The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime!
Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "Yes, And" that you'll have fun!
Prompt vs. Paintbrush
AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machineās?
This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation?
We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee.
Whether youāre deep in the field or just getting curious, come connect with others building and exploring AI in Columbus.

**Abstract**
GitHub Copilot is powerful, but what if you could scale from a solo AI assistant to an entire team of specialized agents working in parallel? This session introduces Squad: an open-source framework for multi-agent orchestration that lets you define teams of AI agents with specific roles, responsibilities, and expertise.
We'll progress from Copilot basics to the Copilot CLI, explore how Agents add autonomy, and see how Instructions and Skills let you customize agent behavior. Then, the climax: a live demo where a Squad team of 3 agents (Lead, Developer, Tester) stands up and builds a working application in real-time, showcasing true multi-agent collaboration.
Whether you're new to AI or exploring how to scale your use of Copilot, this session will show you what's possible when agents work as a team.
