Hi Badminton Fans! Come and join us every Sunday for a fun session of badminton. There are usually 2 sessions to choose from, **This 11 am - Open Session is open to players of all levels.** **If you are a complete beginner -** Talk to us first before signing up, and we can try to make accommodations and maybe have beginners-only court to begin with, with one of the organisers ready to explain all of the basics, such as serving, scoring, rules etc, as well as some pointers to help you progress. **Which Session To Choose** If you're unsure of your level, sign up for the 11am session to start, or ask us! We will try our utmost to ensure that you play with people of similar levels. **What Do You Need** Don't worry about equipment; racquets and shuttlecocks are provided, and there's no need for a badminton license or insurance. Just bring your indoor sports shoes, and a willingness to meet new friends and have lots of fun. There are changing rooms and showers. **Get There Early** Try and get there early to change and get warmed up so that we can start right on time. The courts are normally not being used before we play, so we can get a little extra time playing. **Registration & Payments** Registration is 14€ per person, and you can sign up via PayPal through this event page. For alternative payments, check for available slots on the event page first. Then, submit your payment via https://revolut.me/jonathwu3q with a description of which event you are signing up for, and send the screenshot to one of us so that we can add you. *Please Note: If your name is **not** in the attendees list and you do not have confirmation from us, you will be turned away.* **Annual Membership Option** For regular players, there is the option to take out an annual membership. This costs 80€ for the first year and is renewable each year for 40€. This reduces the weekly registration fee to only 10€ per session. **No Refunds** In the case of a cancellation or no-show, there are no refunds. See you all on the court on Sunday. Once full, RSVPs will be closed. Sign up as early as possible because the events fill up very quickly. 3. I signed up, but I can’t make it! Can I get a refund? * No refunds for cancellations or no-shows. If you inform us early enough, we can try to find a substitute and refund you, but no guarantees. 4. Why can’t I get a refund? * We need a fixed number of participants to maximize court usage, court fees, team arrangements, and team rotations. Cancelations throw all of this off. 5. Do I need to bring anything? Water? Racquets? Birdies? * If you have your own racquet, that will be best! Otherwise, we have spare ones and we provide the shuttlecocks. There is also an 11 am Open Session for players of all abilities. If you're unsure of your level, sign up for the 11am session to start or ask us! We will try our utmost to ensure that you play with people of similar levels. == ABOUT == * This is open for everyone to RSVP (mandatory) * We play casual and are open to any gender, age, and physical form, so far our demographics have been mostly men, between 20 and early 30 years old. Some haven't exercised/played for a long time (due to covid/confinements restrictions), and most of us are from outside Paris or even France, so pretty friendly and chill. * Sundays for 1.5 hours, 2 teams of 6 (max) 5 in with 1 sub, rotating every 5 min. * All pitches are synthetic/astro turf and have sidewalls that can be used to rebound (meaning no lines, probably more physical games) == PLACE == LeFive 17 - 26 Rue Hélène et François Missoffe · Paris 17 * All pitches are open-air and covered by the highway above. They are also all accessible directly from the street/park == RSVP, GUESTS, WAITING LIST AND CANCELATIONS == * The event will be limited to 12 players with a waiting list. * RSVP is mandatory. * Feel free to invite anyone, however, RSVP with guests is not enabled, if you want to bring a friend, share this event directly and let them RSVP themselves * If you wish to cancel, and it's before the RSVP deadline, you can cancel directly here, if after, talk with an organizer first (so we can give your payment link to some else) == EVENT BOOKING AND CANCELATION == * The pitch will only be booked as soon as the previous event ends * We are subject to pitch availability. Une journée pour découvrir, goûter, échanger et célébrer une alimentation plus durable. Pensée comme un moment de partage, la Fête du Végétal met à l’honneur des alternatives positives pour demain, dans une ambiance conviviale et ouverte à tous les publics. AU PROGRAMME : Un marché 100 % végétal réunissant une sélection d’exposant·es engagé·es : food trucks gourmands, pâtisseries, épiceries, mais aussi créateurs et créatrices et artisan·es (illustrations, bougies, savons, céramiques…), ainsi que des librairies et projets culturels inspirants. De quoi manger, flâner et faire le plein de découvertes tout au long de la journée. DES ATELIERS & RENCONTRES Deux ateliers à destination des parents et enfants pour découvrir le végétal de manière ludique, ainsi que deux tables rondes autour de thématiques liées à l’alimentation végétale et à la transition écologique. Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above. There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change. The shelter needs a volunteer count the day before the event so sign-up ends Monday at 4:50 PM. Afterwards some of us go to the Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup in progress to have a bit to eat or drink (http://www.meetup.com/omnipresentatheists/). Volunteers must be 14 or older. Since we will be working around families, the YMCA does not permit volunteering by individuals with convictions for violent or sexual crimes. Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process. Fast track • Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell). • Show up and try it out. • Complete application, etc. later. Normal process • Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/). • Attend orientation in advance. • At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility. • Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM. • Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895). The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014. Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
